What's taking so long?

I'm glad you asked. Things have been happening behind the scenes (very positive things I might add), and I will update you in a moment, but there has been a little bit of slowness in development lately and I attribute it to a few things, namely that Assassins Creed II, Mass Effect 2, and Final Fantasy XIII all came out in relatively quick succession. I promise that there won't be any new video games I am interested in for a long time. Civilization V or The Old Republic is probably the next big distraction on the horizon.

Anyway, I have been revamping things a lot lately and transitioning from Flash to Flex. Both are development tools for the Flash Platform but I will say this: Flex is a billion times better for this project. I thought the transition would take a long time. As it turns out after about 8 hours I had completed most of the process and have since made some key progress.

Also, in a game design decision the briefly implemented gauge system was dropped in favor of a quantized system, but we will discuss that more later when we get into the specifics of how systems will work, although as I have stated in the past, Star Systems are now managed as unified units (akin to Planets from Galactic Civ or Orion, or Cities from Civilizations) and the planets themselves pool all efforts on everything. But again, the specifics of that will come later.
